File Bank
From HostBaby Wiki
The File Bank gives you the ability to upload, and setup a link to, any file to your site.
To use the File Bank, first log in at http://yourdomain.com/hostbaby2/ (replacing yourdomain.com with your actual domain.) Then select Website, and then File Bank.
You will see something like the following:
Choose "Select Files", and you should get a pop-up window where you can browse for and select the file you want to upload. Select the file you want to upload, and hit the "Open" button (note: your button may say something different like "Choose")
In the Flash Uploader, you can choose multiple files by holding down the 'ctrl' button while selecting filenames :
Once you have selected the file, you'll want to give the file a name (This option is not available with the Flash Uploader - you may change the name of the file once the image is uploaded).
Next, select the "Upload It!" button, and you're file should start uploading. For this example, I will upload an Word doc file. Depending on the file size and your internet connection speed, it can take a little while to upload. Once the file if done uploading, you should receive a prompt... like this:
If you select the file you just uploaded, you can change the file name and see the other properties of the file... the properties are different depending on the file you upload.
Since my file is a document, I get a download link (already in HTML) that I can copy and paste anywhere on my site:
Next, we'll add this Doc to the Press section of the site... you can add you files wherever you want, I'm just using the Press page as an example.
So copy the "download link" (or other code you want to use, depending on your file type) and navigate to your Press section:
From whatever page you are adding the link, select "ADD NEW" and you'll be taken to where you can add a new entry.
Make sure the Toggle editor is "on" and click the blue HTML button. A pop up window will appear. Paste the link code into the pop-up window and click insert.
Or, you can enter text in the other fields, I decided to give my a title and author:
Once you are done, select the "add" (or "change", depending on if you have already added the entry) and you should get a message to confirm the entry has been added... like this:
Now, you can preview the page by selecting either the gear icon in the top-right corner or by clicking on the "Preview Site" button in the upper left hand corner of the screen - or you can go ahead and publish the changes.
I'm just going to publish... but don't forget to view the changes after you've published, just to make sure everything is OK:
And viola! You're all done. The entry I made looks like this:
It's pretty simple, but if you get stuck anywhere or have question, just let us know!
