How to export/back up your webmail addressbook

If you use webmail, it is a good idea to back up your webmail addressbook both for safe-keeping, or if you want to import your addressbook into a local email client.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Log into webmail
  2. Click Addresses on the top of your window
  3. Click Export Address Book

Depending on your computer and what applications you have installed, your browser will prompt you whether to save the file or to open it up. A CSV file (comma-separated-text) will be downloaded and/or opened on your local computer. You can then save it as a backup or import it into a local email client to populate its address book.
