Navigation Bar
From HostBaby Wiki
The Navigation Bar page allows you to do the following:
- Change the names of the links on your page which, in turn, means that you;
- Change the titles of your pages
- Change the order that your navigation links appear on the page.
- Enable and dissable certain pages from being viewable on your live site
- Add social networking '[Share It]' buttons to various pages
Important to Note:
Not all templates will support the changing of links/page names. Some templates have graphical headers, vs. text headers - and those graphics don't change to reflect your updates. So while you will be able to change the link from 'Bio' to 'About', on the actual 'About' page, the graphic header will still show 'Bio.'
To avoid this, choose only templates that either do not incorporate graphic headers at all, or that offer a text option. You'll see that differentiation shown in a similar fashion to the below:
One More Warning:
It's tempting to put in two words or long page titles, but most templates are intended to have short, one-word link descriptions. Some templates will be more forgiving than others, but for the most part, we advise that you keep your link/page titles short and straight to the point.
So, now that you know how to make sure your changes are reflected, let's show you how to make the changes!
First, go to http://yourdomain.com/hostbaby2/ (making sure to replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain.)
Click on website, then Navigation Bar
You will see the following screen:
- To change the link and title of your pages, simply type in your new title(s) and save.
- To re-order your links, drag them up or down.
- To disable a page, simply uncheck the "active" box next to the page you want to hide.
- To enable Share It buttons hit check the share boxes next to the pages you want to enable with this feature
And that's that!
