Your News Page is one of the most important pages of your website because it helps your site stay fresh, current and relevant! After all, if there's no new content on your site with regularity, what's the incentive to come back? The News Page is perfect for letting folks know when your next release is coming out, or that you've added a new gig, or that you've just started working on a new project you're very excited about. You can even use it as a blog!

SO -- The first thing we do is go to the News Page by going to:

http://yourdomain.com/hostbaby (replacing yourdomain.com with your actual domain) log in, click on website, then News

At that point, you'll see this screen:

Click on ADD NEW, and you'll see the opportunity to add your next news entry:

Type in your headline, your content and the date will be automatically added for you - though you can change it to backdate or forward date if you wish.

When you click save, you'll be taken to the following page with the big yellow "UPDATED" line at the top:

How to keep a News entry on the top

Have something that you're super-excited about that you want to feature at the top of the page for an extended period of time? No problem. Just choose "No Date" instead of an actual date and it will show up at the top of the page. See here:

Then you'll see, as you save, that the updated page will show "no date - Always At Top" instead of the usual format. Your news page will end up looking a little something like the following from your website builder.

Editing and Deleting

On the screen above, you'll see that in addition to ADD NEW, you have the two entries you've already created. To edit or delete these entries, click on their title, and it will take you back to the add form, but this time with the content you've entered already filled in, and the option to Save or Delete:

Choosing save will update your information. Choosing delete will remove it entirely.

I've chosen the minimalist template to show you what the News page format is, but it will look different depending on what template you choose. Here is the structure of the news page:

Note how the entry that's always at the top is at the top, and will remain there until you change the date or delete it. :)

That's it! An easy way to keep your fans up to date!
