SPOOFING

Ever notice bounced Emails in your inbox that weren't sent from your address? Things like "so-and-so@yourdomain.com"? You may be getting SPOOFED!

I do realize that it LOOKS like the emails are coming from your account, but they actually aren't. This is called "E-mail spoofing" - it's a technique to mask who spam is coming from. Here's a fairly good article explaining the concept:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_spoofing

Basically, when you get spoofed emails, they appear to be coming from your e-mail account (or returned to your account as if you sent them).

Unfortunately, this is a pretty regular issue with Email in general; not just with Hostbaby. The interwebs, these days, are quite treacherous, so just about no domains out there are safe from spoofing. It sucks, we know. It's also just about impossible to combat completely.

The best way to avoid getting these messages is to make sure your Catchall settings are set to "Bounced". This change will then bounce any of the spoofed rejection notices away from you, unless they originated from your own personal address. So, the only returned/received messages you should receive are the ones directly addressed to your specific Email address.

Here's how to do so:
